You will commonly find slant sill torque operators on windows placed on mobile homes, modular homes and motor homes. The gear operator is essentially a worm gear. After you turn the crank handle the worm gear inside operator turns a gear in the window casing. Thus, forces your window to slant outward from the wall. If your worm gear from the operator ceases to work, you will need to change it with a new one.

Pull the starting handle off of the splined shaft protruding on the side from the slant sill torque operator. In some cases, you'll find a setscrew that secures the crank handle towards the shaft. This setscrew has a small flat-head screwdriver or small Allen wrench for removal.

Remove the screws that secure the slant sill operator to the windowsill having a screwdriver. Often, you will possess three screws, playing with may sometimes, you will have either two or four screws based on the overall design of the operator.

Pull the operator straight sway from the wall. The hub pulls outside the window casing.

Squeeze new gear operator into the hole in the window casing. The hub around the operator has two notches built into it. Line the notches track of the notches inside the hole around the window casing then lineup the screw holes.

Secure the gear operator towards window casing while using original screws or using the new screws furnished with the replacement operator.

Slide the starting handle back onto the splined shaft. If necessary, secure the crank to the shaft with all the setscrew.
